Very poor story telling. We've already seen the monsters. We know you need to be quiet. The same scene where someone must get from point A to point B, but accidentally makes a sound, happens over and over.
We learn NOTHING new about the monsters (except a small glimpse into what might be a hive or nest...?) We see the monsters eat something that appears like an alien type of spider egg sack.
I would've expected more insight into thr monsters' nature or behavior. But was sorely disappointed.
The stakes couldn't be lower in this installment of the film franchise. There is no consequence whatsoever if the main character (or her backstory-less accomplice) succeeds or fails in her one goal of the movie.
If the actions and events in this film have any bearing on the other movies, either past or future, it isn't apparent.
If you love this franchise, go watch 1 or 2, they're much better.
