Highly enjoyable and beautifully made series. I am a Tolkein fan of 40 years, have all the books, originals in hard cover. Most of the reviews on here appear to be disappointed its not Peter Jackson's movies, which is a tad silly :) The concept of "guyladriel" that you will find on professional youtube hate channels is also just garbage, as Galadriel came to middle earth as she was of like mind with the male Noldor royalty and wanted to FIGHT Morgoth. We dont know what happened in the second age, none of it is recorded so to those stating the show is "not consistent with the books", what exactly do you believe its not being consistent with. Watch the show, its great.

Strong acting, beautiful sets. Extraordinary. Watch it. Oh, and Iorek Byrnisson. Probably my favourite fantasy character of all time, who just happens to be an armour plated polar bear.

Watched this with my daughter, sensitive and evoking childrens movie. The story is an allegory for the hope of the boys recovery from heart failure told through his interaction with a teenage little person. Its simply beautiful, with characters you can relate to.
