A beautiful film that gently covers so many themes including feminine aging, how much all generations can learn and need to be around each other and the difficult emotion of human loss and how that is so often linked with societal shame. I have ridden that ferry backwards and forwards to Karankoy and it made me long for that time again. The human journey is not an easy thing for any of us but the director has shown us that it can be lived with dignity, joy, hope and compassion when we truly connect with our fellow beings and learn to forgive ourselves....a life affirming 1 hour and 45 minutes....bravo!
