This movie just reminded me what animation as a medium of filmmaking can evoke emotions which even live-action can fail to. This timeless classic I watched recently blew my heart away. The innocence in the kids and trying to be matured Sums the situation so well. Everytime there's a dynamic movement in the camera, my breathe just stops for a second. This movie teaches lot of things just visually and in casual conversations better than any textbook. Definitely a masterpiece, an inspiration for all the filmmakers out there.

I just want to explain one scene from ps2 to show the mastery of mani ratnam. So as i knew the story of the book already, there was one scene in the book happens just before Aditha Karikalan meets nandhini. It is, Periya Pazhuvetarayar leaves kadambur palace and sails. A storm hits his ship and he lands to a shore, there he witnessed godess Kali who reveals to him that Nandini is from Pandya Dynasty, who set to kill Adhita Karikalan, it's then he returns to kadambur palace. So i was thinking the whole time how mani ratnam going to show that scene, because all of a sudden if a goddess appears, it'd break the realism of the film. What's brilliant is.. the way mani ratnam sir have showed. So the only person who knows the truth is Karuthiruman, now as Periya Pazhuvetarayar leaves kadambur, Karuthiruman is being imprisoned by him in his ship and he reveals the truth about nandhini. After the death of Adhitha Karikalan, you can see a frame in which Periya Pazhuvetarayar lying infront of a Kali Statue which is also lying on the floor, which says the Kali Statue had been interacted. That one single frame is enough to talk about the master mind of Mani Ratnam
