The racism angle is interesting to me, mainstream archaeology for the longest time was incredibly racist and to this day we find many white nations hoarding the treasures of non-white peoples. Machu Pichu is another example whereby mainstream archaeology dismisses local tradition. They say Machu Pichu was a palace but locals say it was a center for science.
I have to challenge my own views now too because I didnt think the ideas were inherently racist. I didn't feel that the idea our civilization goes back beyond our accepted timeline automatically meant it wipes out the achievements of indigenous peoples. Or that some other culture built all these great monuments etc.
I am sure the majority of this is nonsense but I like the idea, like ancient aliens its a sexy idea but the romantic one is that our current accepted timeline is likely the most accurate. At the same time I do think our myths and stories are more than just fabrications.
I find it a fun show, probably very little is accurate and I do know he has left out some facts but its fun. Sadly seems like perhaps there could be a hint of racism and that really leaves a sour note.
