[SPOILERS] The movie was overall enjoyable, but the plot felt too generic, especially the ending. It followed the usual trope of the kid choosing family over staying with cool aliens. I get the sentiment, but it’s been done so many times. I even came across posts suggesting alternate storylines, like having Elio’s clone become the antagonist instead of Lord Grigon, which honestly would’ve been way more interesting. The ending also felt rushed; they just got sent back to Earth and that was it. No glimpse of how they adjusted afterward, how humans reacted to the aliens, or even a short tease of a possible sequel (which I really hope happens). In the end, I just wish the story avoided being so generic, because the concept has so much potential, yet it felt compressed into only an hour and a half film.
