I am a doctor so I typically have four to six books I am reading at any given time with very little of my day available to read. Do to my work schedule it will typically take a month to finish a novel. I read Mr. Petersen's novel in two sittings. For me that is as close to cover to cover as i will be able to get. Could not put it down. Absolutely engaging from the first few pages until the end. Mr Petersen's ability to add humor to the macabre of this genre is reminiscent of early Stephen King writings. Highly recommend
