Pay NO ATTENTION to the negative reviews and disparaging comments people are making about this film. I don't know what film these people who are giving it such bad reviews saw, but what I saw was an EPIC story of a powerful young woman discovering the roots and ultimate potential of her power. The cast are excellent, and there is plenty of character development and growth. Dialogue is handled well--still it may be "too talky" for some who are looking for non-stop wall to wall action in this genre. This film is not your typical superhero fare--there is a degree of psychological exploration and a good deal of dialogue. The film goes to some very dark places. Maybe that's "not allowed" in this type of movie in the minds of a lot of people, but I for one thought it was very well done. Additionally, I can't help but think that many of the negative reviews come from an angle of expectation and anticipation that this would be the "finale". It is clear to me that it is no such thing; there will be plenty more X-Men to come. Another angle, inevitably -and unfortunately-is that there are a lot of people who are still not comfortable or unwilling to accept such a strong and powerful female character. That's a whole different conversation. For now, I will repeat: GO SEE THIS MOVIE. Put away your pre-conceived notions, disregard the negative reviews and comments, and you will not be dissapointed!
