I could write a Uni level dissertation on the copious problems with this series. Was this show written by writers who never met each other and did not think about logic and continuity? This muat have been a nightmare for a director to stitch together. This whole series drives itself off a cliff. Yes, I watched it all, but my brain kept generating thoughts like "No, that didn't happen!" or "What?!" or "C'mon mate, no this could not happen!". People appear in consecutive scenes in other locations, minutes apart. Every main character seems at times illogically linked to every other one in a web of current, past, and awkward relationships. Working links, personal links, coincidental links, historical links. Liars and deceivers abound. Just. Not. Believable. In any sense.

Absolutely gorgeously shot, lighting, mood, tension, and restrained but intense acting. This is must-see viewing for cinephiles, TV and movie buffs. 1960s NYC and Italy! OMG, take me back. The black & white presentation captures the growing tension beautifully. The director conveys the spiralling criminality of the pro/antagonist with a deft hand and when the horrible bits surface, well, oh my! A deep breath and no blinking is in order. Just watch the slow burn action unfold. Such a well acted and directed series is a welcome distraction from the melodramatic and overly commercial, 'fast food' dramas of much of the mass produced U.S. TV fodder.

Where to start? This show (Season 1) tries too hard and ends up tripping over itself. Ok, sure, virtually no dramatic TV show is truly 'real', but this one, well, it keeps on stumbling. This show is for you IF you appreciate, OR don't care about, plot holes, timeline inconsistencies, continuity, a ridiculous police officer mother who never once acts like a police officer, impossible coincidences, and head shaking logistical conclusions and missing details. If I were to list all these, this window would probably close. (Did the director ever meet with the editor here?) You will however get some lovely drone shots of the urban and rural geography. If you miss one shot, no worries, they are reused about 10 times.

An illogical stunning waste of time. How do shows like this get made? Were the writers playing Guinness-fuelled poker while they wrote it? Was the director even paying attention to any linear logic? Swiss cheese has fewer holes than this silly plot. Your time will be more productively spent hand washing your socks and underwear. Anyone who has ranked this show higher than 2 stars probably thinks Benny Hill is high drama.

Not a single moment of comedy, tension, logic, or entertainment. How did this ever get made....

Unadulterated piece of cinematic refuse. OMG. The cast & crew should be humiliated. Makes no sense. At all. Nice rainstorm.

This is a very GOOD movie, paced beautifully to bring the viewer smartly in to what is going on. Tightly written with great respect for the viewer. Lots of drama and danger. No cheap angles, fake coincidences etc. The leads are strong as are the secondaries. Plot twists that make sense. NOT shot on a low budget...and it pays off. Loved it. The intensity is felt as we see things from the lead character's perspective and all plot lines converge to a slam bang ending and then a final sequence to tie it with a bow. Not completely a Hollywood ending but satisfying nonetheless, all things realistically considered.

Wow. This grade school project has all the tension of watching my tomato plants grow. Who on earth edited this disjointed mess? It does not flow, there are numerous continuity issues, terrible acting, plot holes galore, and things that just do not make sense. It feels as though a couple hundred scenes were shot, out of order, and then stitched together according to multiple scripts. Most of the characters need a good slap. I struggled to rate 1 star. If you want dramatic top acting, directing, editing, and writing quality, try Shetland or Vera. If you want to cure insomnia, watch this illogical sleepy mess.
