I loved this movie. A lot of people have said it is unrealistic. Those people are obviously not autistic themselves. I think Dakota Fanning did an excellent job of acting autistic. I myself have Asperger's (A form of High Functioning Autism). She had trouble giving people eye contact. She had a meltdown. That was very realistic from my own experience! The movie is a little underrated. It is my favorite Autism movie. She sticks to a routine. She has a very intense, special interest (Star Trek). She procrastinated and waited till the last minute to turn her Star Trek script in for the contest. Those are all typical Autism traits. I definitely recommend seeing this movie if you have any interest at all in Autism.
