Weak all the way around. Scares aren’t scary, plot is almost nonexistent. Group of paranormal investigators go into an old psychiatric facility to find evidence of ghosts and end up trapped in an eternal maze only to find that things actually do go bump in the night. The old and overused “found footage” style of filming are great at covering up a lack of budget but it’s mostly just nauseating and irritating for the viewer. I would have gone for one star but the actors were trying really hard to make this believable.

I feel like this movie set women back about 100 years. The main character (very well acted I must say) decides that the way to compensate for oppression by rich males is to become even crueler than her oppressors. Just the thing I would want to teach my daughter (she says sarcastically). Cheers to the actors that managed to make this piece of garbage tolerable here and there, but overall I have to say I would not recommend this film.

It might have been good had I not read the books. Visually appealing but it lost me in the idolization of Hannibal Lector. Will Graham was the original hero in the series and it would have been more interesting if they had honored that.
