This was a very engrossing, thought provoking series, with wonderful performances. Regina King certainly deserved her Emmy, and everyone else did a stellar job as well. I especially liked Michael Mosley's portrayal of Fish. He seemed so real to me that I would like to know him in real life. His love of dogs, his determination to do the right thing in the case, and they way he and K.J. played off each other was believable. I was happy to see David Lyons again, as I had enjoyed his performance in the series 'Revolution.' He was very convincing as a bad cop, and he did a great job with his facial expressions revealing his emotions. Especially at the end when he began to realize what he'd done. I was surprised by a few turns in the plot, and it was refreshing that it wasn't predictable. I was surprised by the revelation about Pete at the end. Without giving the plot away, I will say it was sobering to see the realistic portrayal of some societal issues, which were timely given what's going on today. I would highly recommend this series.
