this show could be great, but for what ever reason it doesn’t take itself seriously & feels unplanned & lazy at moments, the best way i can describe this is like a game of pool, The cue ball (being the main narrative) smacks into the centre of the table (being the sweet spot of the plot & tension building between Abbott & Tiller family) then directly after all the other balls (being the side characters & side stories) just fall apart & do random, time consuming and frustrating things that steal the light from what this show really is.. an example of this is when Cecilia is hiding away from Royal & spends her time digging unknown animals graves & grieving their loss, this isn’t directly a horrible idea but it’s un-dignifying to the actual story at hand & hold 0 gravity to it.. another great example of this a 15min scene in a church with the family, for reasons at hand we see Cecilia struggling with her faith in her Religion, which again is not a horrible idea but holds 0 gravity bec later in this episode we see her saying grace with the family, giving all this leading conflict 0 purpose.. in the end the show feels incomplete & it still satisfied me enough to hold me until the end of the story, if you’re looking for a show to pull you & make you feel something (good or bad things being very likely) then i recommend this show.
