This movie does have some good elements. The fight scenes and the special effects are good, but the movie decided to focus much more on that than the actual eruption of the volcano that the movie is based on. Putting the eruption on hold at times just so someone can talk to someone or fight someone when you would think that all of that could be sorted out later while they get the hell out of the city! There were too many times where people are wasting so much time talking or fighting amongst each other that it just becomes rediculous. There are some parts that are just down right cheesy. Probably the most cheesy of the them all is the final scene of the movie. They had a chance to get to safety with the horse, but instead they decided to just stand there and die together as they were encased in ash while kissing. How cheesy can you get? Give me a break!
