The Inmost Light is an amazing story that conveys a dark atmosphere till the very end. Who is Dr. Black and did he kill his wife? If not where is she? The end of the story has a nice twist that barrows a bit from the legends of alchemy. I'm new to Machen and have only read two other stories before this one, one of them being The Great God Pan. I definitely recommend him as an author but he may not be everyone's cup of tea. His writing style, being a Victorian, is antiquated and might pose a problem for the modern reader. But if you are able to read him you with fully understand why authors like Lovecraft and King talked so positively about Machen.

Amazing film that dose better than most of the films based off of HPL works. I was a little worried about Cage being in the film but thankfully he was great and proved me wrong. The look is amazing too. Highly recommended, especially for fans of HPL's work. I quick note on some of the other reviews. A few people have complained that Color Out of Space takes from other films such as The Thing. Its interesting that they noticed this because The Thing is based off of a Lovecraft story called At the Mountains of Madness. There are actually a lot of modern horror films based off of Lovecraft's work.
