As someone who has read Erichs works as well as Grahman Hancock's as well as the academic research on the topic they discuss i can say this book is complete nonsense. Erich cherry picks the things that he wants however most of his sources dont actually exist or he is quoting himself through a fake name which is an anagram for his own. This man was convicted and imprisoned for fraud and in jail when he wrote this. This book at no point discusses the time and research put into these fields and instead attacks academia in attempts to discredit it. A quick google search on most of his claims will show how fake and misleading this work is. This book is also incredibly racist in it manner of discrediting ancient non western civilizations. With that said it discredits our ability as humans. If he was right why can we disprove almost everything he says with both fact from the archaeological and historical record? While the book is entertaining and fantstical it is by no means accurate or correct. Erich as well completely ignores fact and doctrine which disproves his claims. The book is fiction and nothing else. Pyramids were built by humans, radioactive material dating, carbon dating, and historical record all disprove his claims. At one point he discusses how humans could not have built the pyramids without help from an areial view, yet several scholars have proven and recreated how this was done. Erich completely ignores the archaeological record as well and at no point discusses the evolution of pyramids and how they were made and ll the previous failed attempts. He as well tries to explain other cultures beliefs as that of aliens and greater beings, these are never western matter only those in south america or the middle east and Africa. While he has done great work in bring attention to archaeology he has done extensive damage to the general belief of the public and has fueled academic distrust. Imagine someone saying that the Wright brothers couldn't have made an aircraft because its to advanced or that Edison couldn't have made the light bulb without help from extra terrestrials. Yeah people wouldn't like that. Its like me walking into your house looking at your grandmas hand made blanket and saying she couldn't have made it because it looks to nice. Or for you religious people saying that Jesus was an alien not the son of god. Yall would crusade over that.
