A truly immersive watch! I forgot I was sitting in a theater with other people for the entire movie. The fears, joy, nerves, tension, and all emotions of the characters were easily felt. The Maverick storyline was not a rinse and repeat of the original movie, but a true continuation of the Top Gun saga into the new generation. Lastly, I have to give bonus points to the directors and writers for not naming another Asian country as the enemy. Whenever a military movie starts, I always think "Who is it going to be this time?" or "Oh please don't be my home country again!" but Maverick subverted my expectations and kept it non-descript. Really made it for a positive viewing!
