I'm a professional engineer and an avid reader of Manning books. After reading the great book Build a Large Language Model from Scratch, I had high hopes for this book. Boy was I misguided. LLMs in Production is worthless for anything other than high-level concepts that are actually useless in application. The code is bad, the examples are bad, the explanations are bad, chapter after chapter, section after section. While previous books on LLMs have motivated me to build and fine tune the in production for real as part of my job, this book has truly demotivated me. I need a cold shower for my mind following this. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
