In order to play you have to sign into / create a Bethesda account, even if wanting to just play the single player campaign.
That or jump through hoops of disconnecting the internet so the un-exitable sign in screen doesn't pop up.
And Lord forbid if you have an old Bethesda account linked to your Gmail for which you lost the password & sn...
Such scummy behavior.
