Last night my husband and I watched this film. We consider ourselves very lucky as, even though we now live thousands of kilometres away from Arnhem Land, once it was very much part of our lives through working in education, health and private enterprise up there. We like to think we know a bit about Indigenous culture. Needless to say we LOVED this film. To watch it from the perspective of the local Raminginning people, many of the issues, observations and questions David raised were quite confronting, challenging your thinking.
This film should be compulsory viewing for non Indigenous people going to remote communities to work - not immediately but maybe in the second stage of culture shock (a real thing). My husband and I were discussing this film long after it finished. As for anyone else, compelling viewing which I highly recommend.
