I heard about this book and then watched Desmond Shum on Sixty Minutes recently so I decided to buy his book. I'm sorry that his ex-wife has disappeared, but its not surprising given the environment in which both he and she operated. Much of the information has already been published in newspaper articles, websites and blogs etc. It isn't really an expose rather than general information. Sure he blames the Chinese Communist Party for his wife's disappearance and he abhors the system which is so corrupt at nearly all levels of Government up to and including those currently in charge. But he was part of the corruption, paying off players with a 30% commission on basically every deal. He comes across as someone with high moral standards, but he and his ex-wife played the corruption game for many years and the bubble finally burst with the arrest of his ex-wife. Playing roulette with a corrupt system always ends in pain. I found his book just a self serving excuse with a heap of regurgitated old news.
