This is a beautifully written novel about love, passion, and grief that transpired in the picturesque French countryside. The author joined the behaviors of the rich and poor witnessed thru the eyes of a cemetery caretaker. It was quite a lengthy novel with a slow beginning. But, I quickly learned that reading several chapters daily was more meaningfull, regardless of how exhausting it might have otherwise been.
I will definitely be reading another novel by
Mademoiselle Perrin when the weather is cooler and I can relax with a warm cup of tea.
