Avoid at all costs. Russel Crowe is dreadfully mis-cast and had really poor vocals. As he is a main character it spoils the whole movie. Better to watch the stage show or one of the two anniversary concert recordings.

Excellent, thought provoking movie for those of us too young to have experienced the horror of what went on In SE Asia during WW2. No punches pulled depicting the moral dilemma or lack of, of the 'codes' of Japan in their treatment of their PoW's. The acting is outstanding.

I don't often wrote a review, but this movie was an absolute load of shine.

Powerful true drama showing the manipulations of big pharma v the affected small guy. The story is superbly told by some breathtaking acting which engrosses the viewer. The frequent flipping between years can be difficult to keep up with, but does not detract from the story telling.
