"All in the Family" is, or at least was, America!!! The series exposed and explored just about every controversial issue of it's day, many of which, unfortunately, remain so today. For the uninformed, some of whom's reviews I have read, this series was a
rejection of bigotry in all it's ignorant and hateful forms. Speaking of hate, does anyone have to look any further than what's in the White House in July, 2020, today? From the cast of actors, to the screenplay writers, and the show's creator, Norman Lear, a work of genius. "All in the Family" had an incredible ability of addressing serious social issues of our society, all while somehow managing to have a humorous, and sometimes emotional, look at them. It's a level of talent rarely achieved anywhere in the world in cinematography.
