Eric Buss

Personally, I believe Stephen King spent as much time on this book as he did many others. However, he spent far less time developing the characters around Mike Noonan and more time having things happen to him. This is a sacrifice and the subsequent plot seems convoluted and hard to believe. The actions the characters take are based less on personality traits as plot devices. It felt rushed and forced. In a line, it was like King was writing a made-for TV book.
