I liked that we got to see Manny deal with his child while she is now a teenager and wants to be let go a bit and hang down “the falls” with the popular kids and BOYS, oh I remember my dad was like him, wanting me to be his little girl forever but he knew when it was time. The GRANNY SLOTH was annoyingly entertaining and I’m glad we got to see her throughout the film and also glad to see Sid’s background the continental drift itself felt like it was a bit rushed, it was like 15 minutes in and I didn’t feel like we grasped enough of the build up, the crab scene and the rainbow was not needed. When did drank a bit of the sea and his face went that was entertaining and the granny’s scent killing the fish because she hasn’t bathed in “decades”, best scene of the film. The pirates were an odd addition but they worked, they were entertaining and fun bad guys, typical kids movie content and the “sea shanty” was a very catchy musical number that I listened to over and over as a kid. Shira the tigeress is a live interest, her only purpose except for the typical bad to good and her enemies to lover’s relationship with Diego which was pretty cute and it had decent development. The chipmunks were not needed and the whole boat thing could have been done without them but they were cute and funny to look at and that’s what kids want. Scrat was a god as always and that will never change, I’m glad the female squirrel wasn’t in it this time because she caused the love triangle of scrat, her and the nut and she was just another comic relief. They all learn their lesson, the bad guy gets defeated, nothing new, just your typical kids movie plot not good or bad just predictable.

I liked it when it first came out because it satisfied my childish needs but when I re watched it tonight I found it very boring and disappointing, the main trio were the worst characters, manny was a raging psychopath, who would sabotage their child’s relationship when she is grown up enough to make her own decisions now that she is what? 21-25? He keeps on learning the same lesson every movie but in this movie it completely destroyed his character, Diego slayed but barely spoke which sucked because he is my favorite out of the main trio in movies 3-5 and Sid well he went to another level of stupid in this film, he stupidly proposed to his ex girlfriend that we never got introduced to before which is ok because about 5-10 years has passed I believe since the 4th film since whatever the mammoth’s child is called is getting MARRIED to this really kind but very naïve young mammoth who I don’t entirely dislike for being quirky, maybe mentally disabled in some way but he was just incredibly annoying and his only purpose was to comfort his fiancé while the world was coming to an end and that relationship felt like a typical high school musical relationship, not a married couple to be, I understand that manny felt like she was growing up too fast but how long has it been? We don’t know? And don’t make the person she lives feel inadequate about joining your family, LET YOUR DAUGHTER GO! Buck, disappointed but he was still entertaining and I’m glad I was able to turn to him for some typical nonsensical buck entertainment. Don’t get me started on the stupid llama who can’t stand growing old like I’m sorry but what? How thick of a plot is that? And Brooke is ok but why? Why was she there? SIDS love interest that’s all so the main trio get girlfriends like I’m sorry but Manny and Ellie made sense because Manny had a previous family and he needed to have some company. The only character I adored/genuinely liked in this film was the GRANNY wow she was entertaining through the whole film 5/5 stars just for granny sloth! “LOVE THEM AND LEAVE THEM AND TAKE HALF OF EVERYTHING” the only time I felt joy towards this movie. The possums also were unnecessary like every film they appear in, they are very annoying and stupid, that’s all I have to say about them. Thank you for reading if you got this far I appreciate it :)
