I've watched this show since it first aired in 2005. I must say that my life took priority and I missed seasons 11 to 20. So this month (April 2024), I got to binge watching the entire series. I loved it.
I am so shocked to see how many negative reviews there are and the reasons for it... people disappointed that it's not realistic story line or medical procedures and then the opposite with people disappointed with how much it looks about real life events I.e. the pandemic, BLM movement, physician shortages, mental health of medical staff after the pandemic, issues around the laws changing to womens health and so on....
I am so impressed that they brought these real live issues to TV. I actually have a new respect and appreciation for medical staff and what they had to go through during the pandemic and how hard that would have been on their mental health but also all the other issues that have come since then including the issues with women's health and how that has directly affected doctors and physicians and surgeons across America.
The writers have taken advantage off their audience and brought real issues to the forefront of our minds and TV and I applaud them for it.
Always has been and always will be an amazing show. The writers should be patting themselves on the back for having such a long successful series.
