Easily the worst film I have ever seen! It is long, hard to follow, disjointed and lacking in any redeeming features. The script is absolute drivel and seems largely ad-lib. Why on earth 2 experienced and usually great actors decided to lend their skills to this is unfathomable.

Simon Pegg's acting is the highlight of an otherwise very average cast and poor script. Pegg manages to create mystery and menace through the portrayal of his character. The film starts well with the concept of the family big secret, but then struggles and splutters along.

This film was billed as a "thriller", yet there are no thrills about it. At the start of the film you are rooting for the characters, but as time goes by and the banal script drifts on, you are left wishing for their inevitable demise. It is sad that this is a true story, but the film should have started with the 2 characters on the road or at a book signing before they were trapped to build the characters.

It's like a cheap and vulgar version of Stranger Things. Some fun, but predictable script and outrageous sexual innuendos to give to kids.

I'm not sure if they were high or not when they wrote this, but it is weird with a capital W! Fine if you want something to watch late night if you're suffering from insomnia, but not something to give up prime time to view! It is slow with confusing dialogue and a quirky script.

If you love moody cinematography, then this film is for you. The setting, backdrops and landscapes are breathtaking. There are some great comedic moments that bring a little life to an otherwise drab portrayal of island life in the 1920s. While the acting is good, the story doesn’t really go anywhere. This film is going to divide opinions. While some thought it worthy of award nominations, others get to the end of the film wishing that they could get that time back! Sadly, I fall into the latter group!
