Definitely unforgettable. I read this book 12 years ago, and I still remember the shocking, and sometimes disturbing stories that it entales. It's a book for an adventurous foodie/reader. Topics of discussion are almost scandalous, and can offend the wrong person if your not careful. For example, I definitely wouldn't be sharing this book with children as some of the chapters take a very dark turn, and could traumatize the reader. Perhaps that is why I haven't read it again since 12 years ago? Anyways, as an adult i do enjoy sharing tidbits with close adult friends. I don't think I would try any of the forbidden foods/substances, even if given the chance. But I was very much intrigued, and glad the author was brave enough to try such foods. I recommend this book to adults with a tough stomach, versatile palate, and with an open mind on the societal/political views of food and drink in different countries. ๐
