It had potential, yet the story was more difficult to follow than the previous 80s version and it would be difficult for beginners who may not have read the book. On a couple of occasions the CGI looked really fake and it was disappointing in a movie that should have done better. There was a scene where an item looked like a model helicopter and I really cringed. It was just okay and I will watch it again before making my final decision, yet right now 2.5, which surprises me as I was hoping for more. Part 2 may change my mind, yet we will have to wait. The acing was okay and also needs a little more character development, yet in a video game world maybe that was the aim - simple is better. Okay, but nothing outstanding.
