The first 30 minutes are quite disappointing (non-stop dialogue), but after that, you'll be playing one of the best RPGs of your life!
First, this is not your traditional turn-based game in which you select a move and yawn. In SoS, you'll have to actively boost and sustain your skills to reach your peak efficiency — you even have to block incoming attacks manually.
Second, the story is truly involving: you'll be surprised repeatedly by the smallest thing with characters that really have a solid identity. I barely remember the last time I felt this... maybe FF9. It's been ages!
Third, the game is quite simple. We could have more mechanics, but quite honestly, what it offers is so good that you'll be satisfied with the little you're given. It's the perfect mix of "god, I must be more efficient" and "wow, I can chill peacefully here".
It has only one problem: like most turn-based RPGs, boss fights can get repetitively long... they could've made it more dynamic by making them change strategy according to their HP, but they unfortunately treaded the easiest path.
I absolutely recommend this game anyway, it was 32h of pure fun.
