[Switch] As a diehard Pokémon fan, I was simply forced to leave Poké behind and join the Temtem world to have some REAL fun.
The game's greatest feature would be the co-op: literally your en-ti-re journey is synched to play with a partner, from the random Tem to the game's bosses. NOTHING in the Pokémon world can compare to this experience.
The game is also way more challenging (forget nuzlocke, seriously), forcing you to strategise to be able to progress even in starter areas. Don't expect to finish this game using your starter alone.
Talking about strategies, the stamina system (PP substitute) is more engaging and fun to use than Pokémon's, and attack synergies (making duos with complementing types) make battle way more fun. My friend and I seriously had a lot of fun just discussing how to engage a boss — something unthinkable in a Pokémon game.
As a downside, I must say the game's performance isn't the best and the UX can be disappointing. It's way less dialogue than Poké, but some moments can feel a bit sluggish too. I don't think either of these problems would make one quit, but I have to be honest, it's not the perfect experience.
Ps: if you played Temtem on Switch in 2022, you likely faced a seriously unplayable game just as I did. I must say these problems are fixed and crashes are quite rare, so rest assured it's time to come back.
