I read this book just after "The Silent Patient" and the comparison was inevitable. I didn't like it as much, it seemed to have the potential to double in size. But at the same time, that could make the book too vague. Considering "Gone Girl" is a masterpiece, I think Gillian always knows when it's time to stop.
