I dont know, I get that they were trying something different with the Sherlock Holmes thing by adding a female spin to it but it felt like some thing was missing for me. I didnt like how Enola Holmes talked to the camera as though she was in the know when the mysteries that she solved didn't feel all that smart. It often looked like she was solving a kids treasure hunt.
I enjoyed Millie Bobby Brown in Stranger Things and so it was her that made this movie watchable for me. She has an acting maturity beyond her years and is charming to watch. I liked Henry Cavil in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. as he suited his character so well and it was a fun movie to watch but I don't get why he was cast in this movie as a boring beefcake Sherlock Holmes.
Somehow they managed to lose a lot of the eccentricity and ingenuity of what made the original Sherlock Holmes so great.
