The movie has a good adaption of ‘Run Forrest run’ as ‘Bhag Laal bhag’ and make a nice journey through Indian political and social history since early 80’s. The movie is an emotional roller coaster where some segments of the movie push you high in emotion but some segments are boring.
I really enjoyed the early part of the movie for it’s story line and hilarious moment such as teaching a Bollywood superstar about his signature pose or becoming the corporate owner of India’s one of the popular brand. All the historical footage and videography were blended very well. But the movie was unnecessary dragged in the end and became boring compare to early part. It would have been much better, if the movie time has been reduced by 15/20 minutes.
Acting wise, Aamir khan was in the screen for most of the time but it was not his best performance. Personally I feel he pushed his character and expression too much. A little flat in expression would be better. Rest of main actors/ actress Karena, Mona, Naga, Manav showed their presence with very strong performance. Specifically Mona was brilliant.
Laal Singh Chaddha is neither as good as 3 Idiots/ PK nor as bad as Thugs of Hindustan. But It doesn’t deserve a blockbuster disaster. I believe the negative campaign against the movie is purely political.
Overall a moderate movie with some flaws. Personally I will rate 7/10.
