This book was REALLY touching for me to read because I have cerebral palsy(CP) ADHD and vision issues I use a manual wheelchair to get around in the committee and a walker at home. I have had some of the same experiences as Ashely Shew of being not able to get around in places without going a further distance to get to places that I need to go. I have also had many times where elevators don’t work and times where I have to use a stander in order to reach things. I have also had hard times traveling. I even could tell what Ashley Shew was thinking about accessibility and how builders NEED and other people to ask people with special needs about what would be the MOST helpful for them instead of just assuming. I am also part of a community group called Living our visions inclusively (LOVINK that has people who have all different disabilities. So I know a little about all different types of disabilities and what is hard for them. In this book it talks about Physical and Mental disabilities and prosthetic limbs along with cancer. Which Ashely Shew has experienced.
She uses some of her personal experience and some of her colleagues. She also is a professor at Virginia tech. I even felt like she and I are the same person
