I haven't even read any of the books and just watched the show on Netflix (Shadowhunters), but I felt like the characters in the movie was lacking something, something that made me unsatisfied. And it seems like they did not ask the author of what she wanted the characters to look like, and what their personalities would be, their body structure and everything along those lines.
