Reading some of the reviews it seems some think it was based on the UK series 'The Tunnel'. This is the original and by far the best. Saga is superbly portrayed as an Asperger's sufferer who is a brilliant detective but useless at the social norms. At times it's very sad and other times makes you laugh. Apart from being a brilliant crime drama, and yes there are some very gruesome scenes, it draws you in to the characters and their personal demons and struggles, sadly a few of those don't make it all the way to the final season four episode. The fact that it's subtitled in no way takes anything away, it probably adds something, so credit must also go to whoever did the translation and subtitles, it flows beautifully. I've watched the whole four series twice now, the second time during lockdown and we were able to 'binge' watch the lot in about a week, we watched nothing else! I look forward to watching it again in about ten years or so when I've forgotten most of it!
