Very simple "what if it was you" plot, stock characters and general lack of nuance, more milking of the Holocaust for all it's worth. The ending seems truncated, as if finding a believable conclusion for this was beyond the imaginative capabilities of the writing team. In fact, it might even have been an interesting movie had they started after the ending and left us to discover the shocking truth, as in Sophie's Choice. I want to see that couple live out the sequel. But that idea's been used. Shucks.
