Someone posted about this book on Mastodon and I ordered it immediately. I just have to say thank you to Lex Croucher for their work; this is the first book in a few years that I've been able to get through despite my depression and anxiety. I used to be a voracious reader, and reading this book made me feel like it was the old days! The writing is smart, but not trying so hard to be clever that it's irritating. The book is humorous, but it also has real depth to it. There are recognizable tropes and character archetypes, but they're presented with wit and twists. And, of course, I greatly appreciate the inclusion and representation when it comes to the queer community! I'll be recommending this book to everyone I can, and I've already ordered the second book a Croucher wrote in this style, "Infamous." I can't wait!
