An origin story that breaks its own rules (Witches are sterile and one needs silver to kill monsters, but never mind that pesky nonsense) has an excess of bland, by the numbers characters, and relegates the most important event (the combining of multiple realities, unleashing magic and monsters into the world) as an inconvenient side effect of the plot. Save yourself 4 hours and try something productive, like sniffing paint.
