I watched it solely because of Daisy. I stayed to the end, hoping for sth to happen and because entire story is too predictable. I knew the moment they break up, they will get back together. And the moment they did, they will find an excuse to push away. It's hardly normal. Life goes on with different experiences. The characters, even after growing up never really matured. Their relationship was too toxic. After hurting each other again and again, both the characters were so obsessed with each other, yet at the same time find every other excuse to push each other away. In the series, Marianne's actions and thoughts always seemed to be conflicted. It always seemed like she has an ulterior motive(which I was hoping for an interesting twist). All the reviews I saw, kept saying Connel was toxic, But I saw Marianne as manipulative. Doing stuff just to get his attention and being caring only when they are apart. And Connel, his actions and deep conversations with Marianne never seemed to match. It always felt like he was pretending. Despite, a football player, with extensive popularity and friends, he always seemed way too off. There has to be a reason for that, but it was never really shown. People go through changes and hardships to develop character, but he was total bleak. The story had so many loopholes and is so inconsistent that I can't explain without spoiling it here.
My advice to anyone wondering is to stop watching the moment you think that it's not good. Because it doesn't really get better till the end.
