Rabid was given to me by my daughter, who didn’t know why she ever bought it— But I knew this was exactly the kind of book I would love. It is definitely a great choice if one has interest in Non-fiction, medical and/ or a story impossible to put down. Impossible because the horror is all true. Written very well and easy to read and easier to enjoy, Rabid tells a story of fact and history. As upsetting as some pages are— it is the fact that it’s true that made me get shivers in my spine. Since the “cure” is still not exactly what we would expect after so many years, it makes the reader anxious. The story is intense: knowing it is factual and true is a constant reminder to stay far away from a stray dog or any animal acting strange. I read it twice and commend the writing which is both light and very dark but always makes the reader turn the page for more. For those who enjoy fact-based non-fiction with a strong medical story, it is a real treat. I recommend to anyone who enjoys both medical and historical page turners. And to anyone who just loves to read a great book.
