After watching the Obi-Wan Kenobi D+ show, I went into this not sure what to expect. It blew me away within the first 10 minutes of episode 1. If Live-Action Star Wars continues along this route, we’re in for some more incredible TV.
The cinematography is incredible. The dialogue is believable and well-written. The acting is incredible from the whole cast (especially Genevieve O’Reilly). The new characters are all fine additions to the Star Wars universe; I especially loved the new addition of Dedra Meero.
The slower pacing allowed for a coherent and well told story to unfold episode by episode. The amount of story elements that all unfolded by the finale blew my mind. Episode 6 and episode 11 were easily the standouts of the show, and left me unable to take my eyes off the screen.
My takeaway from Andor is that Tony Gilroy is making some of the best Star Wars content in the franchise’s history, and I hope he gets the chance to make even more in the future!
