Although I did not read the books, I watched the first season and enjoyed it. (The scripts and plot were better than Virgin River and the actors were a tad better, too.) This second season is hard to watch -- all the religious messages are off putting to me, at least. In addition, Jamie Lynn Spears is especially sad to watch. Her character is really pathetic. Helen's teeth steal every scene, and she's so patronizing. I really don't care who she picks. Bill Townsend needs a vasectomy and his character is just ridiculous. The Lewises make me want to get a gun, even the kids -- especially the son. The plots make me scream, they are so predictable. The adults are every bit as frustrating as the kids. Renew it, cancel it, I don't care!
