Wow, how did this get published. Stereotyped, derivative, poor plot, no ending, weak characters, and rehashing a style that was tired 50 years ago.
I think the publisher should have asked the author to go away and develop the plot better. And their writing skills.
It's trying hard to be a 'noir' style, with a violent female protagonist why loves luxury clothes and handsome daredevil men, but really, these plots are tired, even b grade television shows have abandoned them.
