You can't set Catch-22 to film and this is no different. The series clearly ignores the other characters to the extent necessary to leave you wondering what is Yossarian studying. It also ignores any of the snippets of logic intertwined with all the circular references. Seriously, you have to read the novel to understand this mini-series to fill in the gaps. Only Orr knew what to do to defeat Catch-22 as Yossarian was trying to do and they clearly missed capitalizing on him to support where Yossarian went wrong. I will say they developed a good ending with Yossarian, now clearly insane and now truly forced to fly missions, flying off into the sunset on a successful bombing run. It is not Heller's ending but then again this is not Heller's mini-series. Read the book. It stands alone.
