Zellweger performs one of the most compelling performances I have ever seen. She draws you into the tortured two sides of Judy Garland’s life. She does not mimic Garland as much as inhabit her with her own voice. This is one hell of a movie if you focus on the two female leads, Garland and her handler during the last year of Garland’s drug and alcohol filled young life 47.
