At some point, the audience is paying money. You have to respect them too. You don’t have to meet every expectation but don’t make them feel like it’s a departure from expectation for the sheer point of adding characters who sing. It felt forced. The audience seemed to groan whenever another song began. I honestly wish I didn’t see the movie just because it now dims the performance of the first one.
