Interesting film. You need to know/understand the interplay between Cubans on the island and the Cuban Americans in Miami to have a deeper appreciation of the film. How the US harbors terrorists like Carriles (mastermind of Cubana flight 455 bombing in 1976-long before 911); how the Miami Cubans are no angels using drug money to finance, in part, their quest to undermine the Cuban government; the fractured yet at times obligatory relationship between the US and Cuba; the nexus of a shared yet divergent history of one people severed by politics; the quest for domination of a narrative that has never been fully told by parties other than those the US has given support to and the ever present embargo that chokes the every day Cuban while Cubans stateside make a fortune on that embargo and politicians who pander to members of the first migration.
