I agree with Christine R. I think they made the supporting characters exaggeraedly clueless to the point of being heartless, verging on sociopathic. If Kelly were golden hearted, she’d mop up the milk and laugh about her quip later. She and Jason would have to have immense psychiatric problems or intellectual disabilities to consistently act as they do. Of course younger people can be thoughtless. But to that extent and frequency? Cathy’s a bit of a doormat. I get the self sacrificing and patience. Many moms are like that. But, again, not to that extent. I found Cathy and Michael loveable but I got overwhelmed by the constant negativity.
